Our Carers
Carefully Chosen, Personally Matched
We only introduce carers whom we would feel comfortable trusting with our own family. That principle guides every stage of our recruitment, vetting and matching process.
Our Carer Selection Process
Every carer completes a thorough, multi-stage recruitment and vetting process before being accepted by Companions4u. We personally interview applicants to understand their experience, skills, availability and approach to caring. We also check their identification, right-to-work documentation, DBS certificate, relevant training and professional references. Only carers who meet our required standards are considered for introduction to our clients.
Finding the Right Person for Your Family
Our carers come from a wide range of backgrounds and have experience supporting people with different care and companionship requirements. This may include:
- Elderly companionship and support
- Dementia, MS and Parkinson’s care
- Personal care and mobility assistance
- Medication reminders
- Meal preparation and light housekeeping
- Live-in care
- Daytime and hourly support
- Waking night care
- Weekend care
- Respite and post-hospital support
- Experience with PEG feeding, stoma care and catheter care
Identity and Safety Checks
Before introducing a carer, we check their:
- DBS certificate
- Identity documentation (Passport / Driver's Licence)
- Right to work in the UK (Visa)
- Relevant professional references
- Care experience and employment history
Getting to Know Every Carer
Every applicant is interviewed individually so we can learn more about their experience, skills, and suitability for care and companionship roles. We do not accept carers based solely on an application form or CV.
Carers
Skills, Training and Experience
We review the relevant training certificates and qualifications provided by each carer. Clients are also encouraged to discuss any specialist requirements directly with their chosen carer before making a final decision.

Verified Employment References
We obtain and verify relevant professional references before introducing a carer to a client. This helps us confirm the applicant’s experience, reliability and previous work within the care sector.
